Toro Energy Limited is an Australian uranium company with enviable development projects (Wiluna and Theseus) and a highly prospective exploration portfolio.
Toro Energy’s Wiluna mine is set to become Western Australia’s first ever uranium mine following final environment approvals granted in April 2013. Toro’s Wiluna regional resource contains approximately 54 million pounds of U3O8 (as uranium oxide), with Toro planning to mine the Lake Way and Centipede deposits over a period of 14 years. Subject to project financing and uranium market support, Toro is targeting first uranium sales during 2016.
Discovered by Toro in 2009, Theseus is located near Lake Mackay on the Western Australian/Northern Territory border. An inferred JORC resource of 6.9 million pounds of uranium oxide at 493 ppm was defined within a small part of the larger Theseus footprint, which has a current exploration target range of 28 to 40 million pounds of uranium oxide at 450 to 520 ppm. The Company is confident that this preliminary resource calculation can be improved over time due to grades over 1% uranium and mineralisation over 10s of metres thickness in some places.
In addition to Wiluna and Theseus development projects Toro has exploration interests over 12,000 square kilometres in Western Australia, Northern Territory and Africa including the highly prospective Reynolds Range and Wiso targets.
